Its successful Asset Intensive Industry Summit (AIIS), the first event of its kind in the region, is designed to address the common challenges of all asset-intensive organisations in overcoming barriers to business optimisation and achieving best practices in work and asset management. The event will be held April 5 to 7 at the Santiago Marriott Hotel in Chile. The Latin American Asset Intensive Industry Summit will bring together executives from leading organisations within capital-intensive industries such as mining to discuss the latest ideas, trends and developments in support of maximising the asset value chain. Speakers will include Mincom executives and product experts, representatives from the PMM Institute for Learning, and global industry leaders such as Anglo American Chile, Carbones del Cerrejón, Minera Esperanza and Minera El Tesoro.

During the event, Mincom will also feature a special presentation from two key figures in the recent Chilean mine rescue: Mario Sepúlveda, nicknamed “Super Mario” by the international press for helping the other 32 trapped miners keep their spirits high, and Jean Romagnoli, chief medical officer in charge of the rescue, who cared for the health of the men trapped for 68 days at 700 m below the surface.  Both men will share their experiences in a special presentation titled “Leading the Way: Experience and Learning in the Rescue of 33 Miners in Chile,” highlighting how the rescue succeeded through leadership and teamwork.

Said Bruce Jacquemard, Mincom executive vice president, “Mincom is proud to extend this unique event addressing the needs of asset-heavy organisations to Latin America, building on the success of events conducted in Asia Pacific and North America.  We look forward to providing leaders from different organizations in this region with a forum to network, discuss new ideas with peers, and get up to speed on the latest developments and trends on how to stay ahead of the competition and maximise profitability, safety and compliance.”
