anrikningsverk_garpenberg.jpgRamirent Sweden has been selected as a total solution supplier of rental equipment in the expansion of Boliden’s operations at the Garpenberg mine near Hedemora, Sweden. The value of the agreement is about €7.9 million over the next three years. Boliden’s investment in the expansion of the Garpenberg mine totals about SEK3.9 billion. The project will increase the production of zinc ore from the current 1.4 to 2.5 Mt/y. Ramirent will supply heavy equipment, lifts as well as other rental equipment and accessories to all subcontractors operating at the site during the entire project. In addition, Ramirent will deliver office, changing room, washroom and canteen modules for project workforce.

Ramirent will open an outlet at the Garpenberg site, where experienced personnel will provide flexible services, rental equipment and a range of spare parts. “We are very happy to be working with Boliden once again. As a total supplier in this significant mining project, we will be able to benefit from our experience gained in the Aitik mine expansion project two years ago,” said Peter Dahlsten, Senior Vice President, Ramirent Sweden. Ramirent is the second largest machinery rental company in Sweden, with annual net sales of €145 million in 2010 and 84 outlets throughout the country. The Garpenberg expansion will be carried out between 2011 and 2014, with production successively increased, starting in early 2014. Full production capacity will be reached by the end of 2015.
