New enclosed cabin for Atlas Copco's low profile loader

Atlas Copco Underground Rock Excavation has made further developments to its Scooptram ST7LP low profile loader. The loader was previously supplied with a canopy, but has now been upgraded to include a fully enclosed operator’s cabin. Operators using 7 t loaders in low seam applications can now look forward to the protection of a fully enclosed, FOPS/ROPS approved cabin. This is the latest upgrade on the Atlas Copco Scooptram ST7LP and allows for a more comfortable working environment with air conditioning, a spacious foot box and a lower noise level.

Franck Boudreault, Product Manager at Atlas Copco said:  “The working environment for operators becomes more and more important to our customers. This new cabin is a result of a close dialogue with different mining companies.”

Scooptram ST7LP is a low profile 6.8 t capacity loader for demanding conditions in narrow vein mining and is the only low profile loader of this size that is available with a cabin. It is 1.4 m high and 8.5 m long and designed for back heights as low as 1.6 m. It has a short power frame and a long wheel base which makes it easy to manoeuvre.

The Atlas Copco RCS control system also contains a unique traction control system that minimises wheel spin when entering the muck pile. This improves penetration, enables one passloading and significantly reduces tire costs.
