Engenium awarded two electrical upgrade projects by BHP Billiton

Perth-based Engenium Pty Ltd, a subsidiary of ASX-listed Resource Development Group Ltd (RDG), has been awarded two electrical upgrade projects by BHP Billiton as part of an existing framework agreement. The contracted work has an estimated value of A$3.5 million. Having previously undertaken work on the study phase of the Substation Replacement Project at Yandi, Engenium has now been contracted to continue onto the execution and commissioning phase.

The project includes the replacement of four existing transportable substations in new locations and the replacement and refurbishment of associated switchboards. Engenium’s scope of work includes project management, transformer design, execution engineering, design support and control system works and equipment procurement. In addition, Engenium has also been appointed to supply engineering consultancy services for the study of BHP Billiton’s Eastern Ridge Switchboard Replacement project.

Central Systems Pty Ltd (Centrals), a recently acquired subsidiary of RDG, also has an existing framework agreement with BHP Billiton and has worked on a number of construction projects for the company including industrial buildings expansion at Eastern Ridge and construction and installation of administration facilities at Mining Area C’s Eastern and Western hubs.
