Atlas Copco has launched its new QIS range of industrial generators. The application-oriented generators are the first models to be introduced under the Gesan line. It targets a wide variety of industries. The full QIS range will be shown at Middle East Electricity in Dubai in March 2015. To meet the widest range of power needs, the 50 Hz QIS comes in no less than 18 models. The smallest is currently the QIS 65 (60 kVA/48 kW prime power; 66 kVA/53 kW standby); the smaller QIS 10 will complete the range in March 2015. The largest is the QIS 830 (752 kVA/601 kW prime; 830 kVA/664 kW standby). The 60 Hz unit is also offered in 18 sizes, from the QIS 60 (70 kVA/56 kW prime power; 77 kVA/62 kW standby) to the QIS 740 (849 kVA/679 kW prime; 925 kVA/740 kW standby).

“At Atlas Copco we understand the requirements of different industries, and thanks to our retrofit kits we can fulfill all these specific needs even after the QIS generator has left the factory,” says Angel Nieto, Product Manager Atlas Copco Portable Energy. The retrofit kits include basic features such as an automatic fuel filling system and remote monitoring capability as well as complex ones such as upgrading to parallel operations with other gensets.

With its large removable doors and easy access to all important components, the QIS was designed for hassle-free maintenance. This includes no-spill top-ups of the coolant reservoir, straightforward cleaning of the radiator, convenient access to the alternator and clean drainage of all liquids.

To simplify installation, the QIS comes with dual-position air outlets and a vertical power cable outlet through the frame.
