New CIFA Coguaro mixer being tested in Peruvian mine

Coguaro is the new mixer that CIFA has destined for special transportation of concrete in demanding environments, such as tunnels and mines. The company says the new mixer “is being put to the test in Peru, in an Andean mine in Chungar, which will be a real challenge, due to its 4,700 m altitude, underground temperatures reaching 38°C, a high humidity level and presence of acid water.”

Small dimensions allow it to move in small spaces, but at the same time it has a carrying capacity up to 4 m3. “Looking closely at it, what strikes most is the unmistakable ‘Made in Italy’ style and the design, unusual for this type of machine, that matches aesthetics, quality, technology, functionality and ergonomics.”

An electrically-operated hydraulic transmission, a hydraulic pump and two hydraulic engines mounted directly on the axles “ensure maximum traction, reliability and minimum fuel consumption.” Four driving and steering wheels and a sturdy frame ensure high agility. High safety levels are due to the drum rotation control during vehicle movement and safety systems to block the drum when carrying out maintenance. The machine functions are controlled by CSD (Control Speed Drive), driving safety is guaranteed by ROPS-FOPS closed cabin, and visibility enhanced by an infrared rear-view camera for manoeuvres in tunnels. Available on request are electronic sensors for obstacle detection and an active fire control system. The engine is a diesel Perkins STEP 3-A.
