Stellar Industries has released of the 13500 large OTR service truck. The Stellar® 13500 is a tyre service crane that, when mounted with the Stellar TM6116 Tire Manipulator, can handle tires up to 3 m (116”) in diameter and up to 2,725 kg, and without the TM6116 can lift 6,125 kg at 3.05 m from the centreline of the crane’s rotation. The 13500 is equipped with fold down style stabilisers with a wide stance to give, the company reports, “excellent stability whether mounted on a single or optional tandem axle chassis as well as excellent serviceability of all cylinders and hoses.” The 13500 is available in two different configurations, a 5.2 m long single or 6.1 m long tandem body.

Features of the service body of the truck include a heavy-duty steel construction, eight D-ring tie downs on the flatbed, stainless steel rotary slam latches, slide top doors on all tool compartments, recessed skirt-mounted halogen floodlights, rubber mounted running lights and undercoating on the entire body.

Features of the crane include fully proportional radio remote control, fully enclosed extension boom cylinder, hexagon-shaped secondary and extension booms, integral-mounted pump and PTO on chassis, and load-holding counterbalance valves. Additionally, rotation is accomplished through a turntable bearing.

As with all Stellar OTR tire service trucks, the large OTR service truck incorporates a hexagonal boom design; a design that is well known in the industry for its excellent strength and durability.

“Customer demand brought us to the development of this crane,” says Tim Davison, Product Manager for bodies and cranes. He continues, “It fits nicely within the rest of our product offerings. It offers a strong crane with lots of capacity, but on a chassis that is manageable for a mid-sized operation. This size of service truck will work very well for quarries, small mining operations, and large construction companies operating their own trucks to service their fleet.”
