IGS Xplore – de-risking early stage mineral exploration

Making critical decisions in the early stages of mineral exploration has become much easier with the launch of IGS Xplore at 2016’s Mining Indaba in Cape Town.

Mineral exploration is a time consuming, labour intensive and often costly exercise, even before prospects have been identified and licenced. Using IGS Xplore, the new mineral prospectivity software service developed by International Geoscience Services (IGS), “will vastly reduce the time and money spent on this early-stage work to enable decision makers to make well-informed choices about where to target their efforts,” IGS says.

IGS Xplore is an innovative semantically-driven (knowledge-driven) software, which rapidly tests the different types of geodata that exist for a region/country, including geology, geochemistry, known mineral occurrences and other data sources, to identify early-stage exploration targets and generate a portfolio of value-adding prospectivity maps for a region/country on a commodity basis.
