BKS stromschienen in-house lab accredited by LOVAG

Supplier of compact power transmission solutions for mineral processing plants in the form of cast resin busbars, BKS stromschienen says its in-house laboratory has been accredited by LOVAG after a year of intensive renovation and preparation. BKS is now able to carry out authorised tests for lifting; ability to withstand mechanical loads; clearances and creepage distances, dielectric properties, temperature rise limits, and electromagnetic compatibility. “This puts BKS ahead of its competition in the ability to provide testing for projects and enhance R&D efforts.”

BKS stromschienen also recently expanded its portfolio and can now deliver coloured busbars by request to customers. In the RAL colours they better blend in with the industrial building they are housed in, while colours can also help identify the voltage and current levels. Compact cast resin busbars save space, but also optimise the design of the building. A third of the space is needed for a 1,200A conductor rail compared to using cables of the equivalent current.
