Eickhoff SL900 shearer takes world record at SUEK Kotinskaya mine

Ahead of the September issue’s article on mechanised coal cutting comes news that AO SUEK-Kuzbass’s Kotinskaya underground coal mine in the Prokopjevsker District in the Kemerovo area has achieved a new world record of 1.4 Mt in a month with its Eickhoff SL900 shearer loader. Eickhoff states: “The combination of the highly skilled and motivated Kotinskaya staff and Eickhoff’s powerful yellow giant SL900 obviously is a story of constant success as current mine data look promising for more record breaking news to follow soon.”

Since its foundation in 1864 Eickhoff has been specialised in underground coal mining equipment. Today, Eickhoff is a successful German based global supplier of longwall shearers  and continuous miners, providing the world wide coal community with more than 50 machines every year. It also supplies shearers and continuous miners to the soft rock industry, and the forthcoming IM August issue will outline in detail some of the successes the company has had with its technology solutions at the Belaruskali potash mine.
