Canadian company Dynasty Metals & Mining has been buoyed by the appointment of a new Undersecretary of Mines in Ecuador, Dr Jose Serrano.
Dr Serrano has broad experience in both the private and public sectors. During his distinguished career he has held positions in previous governments that include Minister of Labour. As a former Undersecretary of Mines, he is very familiar with the developing Ecuadorian mining industry.
Dynasty President and CEO, Robert Washer, said the company viewed the appointment of Dr Serrano as “further indication of the commitment of the government to the development of modern, responsible mining industry in Ecuador”.
He said it was the second such positive appointment in recent times following Dr Galo Chiriboga’s instatement as the new Minister of Mines and Petroleum.
Dynasty has two advanced-stage projects, Jerusalem and Zaruma, and a highly prospective exploration project based along the Dynasty Copper-Gold Belt, which includes the Dynasty Goldfield, the Copper Duke project and the Marianna joint venture among other prospects.
