Exploration and mine design solution, Micromine 2013, launched in Indonesia

Posted on 6 Jun 2013

Micromine’s exploration and mine design solution; Miromine 2013 has been launched in Indonesia at the East Asia: Geology, Exploration Technologies and Mines Convention held May 27-29  in Bali. The event was hosted by the Australian Institute of Geoscientists (AIG) and Geoscientists Symposia (GS) and covered geology and mineral extraction from Russia to Papua New Guinea, and advances in mineral exploration technology being applied across the region, from target generation through conversion of resources and reserves. Micromine Founder and Managing Director, Graeme Tuder, attended the event to officially launch Micromine 2013 within Indonesia. Tuder spoke to delegates about the solution, with a focus on its new Implicit Modelling module. Micromine Indonesia Regional Manager, Myke Jones, explains “All delegates who viewed the Implicit Modelling module were impressed with its sophisticated and easy-to-use tools for controlling and displaying implicit models”.

“Using the module, it is effortless to create and visualise the most complex wireframes. The module uses industry-standard radial basis (RBFs) to model grade volumes, lithology boundaries, faults and surfaces. These wifeframes are readily displayed in Vizex, Micromine’s 3D environment, and are a valuable tool for finalising geological interpretations”.

Micromine is a leading solution for geological exploration, 3D mine modeling, resource estimation, pit optimization and resource scheduling.

Jones adds, “Micromine provides explorers with an in-depth understanding of a project so prospective regions can be targeted more accurately, increasing the chance of the project’s success. Miners are provided with easy-to-use modeling, estimation and design tools to simplify day-to-day design and production tasks”.

“Consistent with all Micromine releases, the new features in Micromine 2013 focus on intuitive usability with enhanced workflow methodologies and logical processes. Productivity gains continue to be an area of focus through faster processing speeds, flexible import and export functions and compatibility with third-party applications”.

This release includes two new modules; Stratigraphic Modelling and Implicit Modelling, along with many enhancements and further improvements to all other modules.
