Bretby Gammatech, part of the President Engineering Group (PEGL), has been approved as a PICS contractor, which it says will further enhance its relationship with suppliers in the mining industry. PICS helps businesses to reduce levels of risk and increase safety management, providing a simple method of pre-qualification for large mining companies across the UK, Western Europe, the Middle East and Africa. Major coal producers, such as UK Coal, work closely with PICS to support their contractor and supplier management programme.
The statement said: “Membership of PICS demonstrates that Bretby Gammatech is a company committed to the highest standards in terms of compliance, processes, employees and insurance, providing further reassurance to major clients in the mining and waste management industries. As one of the world’s leading coal quality monitoring equipment companies, Bretby Gammatech sees membership of the PICS Consortium as its latest step in further developing its relationship with some of the world’s largest coal producers and land reclamation companies.”
Gary Wain, General Manager of Bretby Gammatech, said: “We are delighted to have been approved by PICS and see it as an important step forward in securing further opportunities for our products internationally within the mining and waste management sectors. This approval reinforces our position in the market and clearly demonstrates to major companies that Bretby Gammatech is committed to the highest quality standards.” Bretby Gammatech is a pioneer of Natural Gamma technology to measure the ash content of conveyed coal, through products such as the Ash Eye, Heat Eye, Lab Ash and Ash Probe. Complementing the ash monitoring products is the Gamma Eye for the quick and easy assessment of gamma contaminated material on site, without the need for radioactive measures.
