Posted on 19 Aug 2013

Laird’s mining remote control solutions focus on safety and efficiency. This global technology company will attend Asia-Pacific’s International Mining Exhibition (AIMEX) to raise awareness of its remote control and communication systems for mining as it enters the Australian market. Laird will demonstrate a wide variety of mining solutions including the SIAMnet Communication System. SIAMnet is a network of coaxial cables, antennas and Access Points which provide voice and data communication for underground mines. It features an U/G distributed antenna system, two-way voice and mobile data communication and high-speed Ethernet connections all while being an affordable, high capacity mining solution.

“Laird has developed a reputation as an industry leader in mining solutions around the world,” said Richard Larivière, Product Manager, Mining for Laird. “As we expand into the Australian market, AIMEX presents an excellent opportunity to demonstrate our capabilities.”

Laird will also demonstrate the Can-Bus mining remote control system and the Unity-M industrial remote control system. The Can-Bus system simplifies the installation of a remote control on any CAN-based vehicle. It connects directly to the vehicle’s computer network and is adaptable to any vehicle manufacturer with preset configurations. The Unity M system for EOT cranes provides safety and reliability. It features worldwide compatibility with a large choice of operating frequencies. Both systems are affordable solutions for mining and industrial applications.

Laird’s wireless automation and control solutions have helped prevent serious injury while increasing efficiency and productivity by allowing operators to move to a safer, more efficient location. With more than 65 years of experience in radio frequency products, Laird is one of the largest global manufacturers of industrial radio remote controls. All products are backed by Laird’s worldwide service and support network, which provides service locations throughout the world, as well as a fully trained 24/7 service desk.
