Modular replaces existing FMS at two Brazilian iron ore mines

Modular Mining Systems announced today that it will install its DISPATCH® Fleet Management system (FMS) at two affiliated iron ore mines in Brazil, replacing other systems. The DISPATCH FMS will supersede the systems on more than 100 pieces of equipment, including 34 trucks, 32 auxiliary units, and 19 shovels.

The DISPATCH system’s fleet optimisation functionality will be augmented by the Speed Management, Prestart Checklist, Fuel Service Management, Material Blending, KPI Dashboards, Crew Line-Up, and Mine2Plan modules; enhancing the FMS’ safety, cost control, personnel management, and equipment utilization capabilities. In addition, Modular’s MineCare® Maintenance Management solution will provide proactive, real-time equipment health monitoring.

“Because of its consistently-positive performance, the DISPATCH Fleet Management system has now replaced the competitive system at five sites operated by the same corporate entity,” said Airton de Sena, General Manager, Modular Brazil. “We are confident that our solutions will continue to meet the corporation’s expectations and help them achieve their operational targets,” he added.
