Redpath Black Diamond hiring for Kirkland Lake Gold’s Holloway mine development

Redpath Black Diamond will be the primary contractor on Kirkland Lake Gold’s Holloway underground mine development project located in Matheson, Ontario and is currently hiring for a number of mining roles. The planned development will consist of waste and ore development in the Smoke Zone and Middle Zone consisting of approximately 1,590 m of development of different sizes. Kirkland Lake Gold completed the acquisition of St Andrew Goldfields Ltd in January of 2016, which included the Taylor, Holloway, Holt and Hislop mines and a milling facility on the Holt property.

In its full year guidance for 2019, released in December 2018, Kirkland Lake stated: “Production from the Holt Mill (including mine production from the Holt and Taylor mines) is expected to remain largely unchanged during the next two years, with the anticipation of some production growth at Taylor in 2021. The potential to restart operations at Holloway Mine could lead to higher levels of production from the Holt Complex, with advanced exploration work being undertaken at Holloway in 2019.”

Roles being advertised include jumbo operator (two boom Sandvik jumbo), underground 30 t truck driver, cagetender, shift boss, mechanic, lead electrician, deckman and miner.
