Nordic Lights Suzhou gets Cat SQEP Platinum supplier rating

Nordic Lights Suzhou Co Ltd has received its first-ever Caterpillar SQEP (Suppliers Quality Excellence Program) Platinum rating in October 2020. The facility supplies lighting solutions to Caterpillar factories including its Suzhou location that makes Medium Wheel Loaders (MWL) and Motor Graders (MG) for the mining market including the 120K and 140K graders and 966M/966H loaders.

The certification means that Nordic Lights Suzhou meets the extremely high standards set by Caterpillar regarding quality, product documentation, and delivery performance. To receive an SQEP certificate, the performance of the supplier is evaluated and awarded a bronze, silver, gold, or platinum certificate based on the result.

“We are honoured to receive our first Platinum certificate from Caterpillar, it is a concrete sign of our reliability and a testament to the smart co-operation between our different departments and stakeholders. I would like to thank all members of the Suzhou personnel for their excellent and highly dedicated work,” says Antti Turja, Managing Director, APAC & GM, Nordic Lights Suzhou.

The basis for the SQEP program is a strategic partnership aiming at mutual development. Nordic Lights can boast a long history of cooperation with Caterpillar and first achieved an SQEP Bronze certificate back in 2009.

“It is truly a privilege to be able to work together with an esteemed manufacturer such as Caterpillar, and we are always looking forward to the next project. We see each new undertaking as a chance for us to improve and challenge our own ways of working, in order to come up with the best possible solution,” says Gary Lu, Operational Manager, Nordic Lights Suzhou.

Nordic Lights says its manufacturing processes have taken inspiration from the global tech leaders, offering one of the leanest production chains in the branch of business. “The daily work to improve further continues, and in addition to that, the company also puts the latest technology and innovations into use in new areas of the production chain.”
