Enaex introduces Vertex high energy explosives to Peruvian mining market

Chilean-based global explosives major Enaex is introducing its Vertex explosives formulation for the first time in Peru’s mining industry, which it says will have a great impact on downstream results. The Vertex formulation has higher energetic power with pure ammonium nitrate (99.9%) in its composition, but with green technology used in the AN production. It was developed for areas where massive rock formations have greater resistance, by subjecting the ground to greater energy and weakening its matrix. It also means a positive impact on mill performance, recovering yields that had previously been lost.

It is a pourable and pumpable heavy ANFO, a line of blasting agents “based on a blend of emulsion and ANFO, combining the main properties of both components: high energy, good gas volume, variable density, and in some cases, water resistance. They are suitable products for surface blasting, especially when it is feasible to use mechanised loading systems, in dry perforations or with water.” The product is designed to improve fragmentation, expand blasting patterns and save on drilling. “Given its innovative formulation, the incorporation of sensitising and energising agents is not necessary for the improvement of product properties. With the above condition, it is not necessary to incorporate a factory truck and special silos for the storage of raw materials.”
