China’s wide body mining truck major Tonly signs autonomy deal with Ecotron

Shaanxi Tonly Heavy Industries Co Ltd, one of the leading Chinese OEM players in wide body mining dump trucks, has begun a strategic cooperation with Whittier, California-based Ecotron to develop unmanned driving technology for mining trucks.

It says the software system can be adjusted to match different application scenarios and customised according to different operating environments. “The goal is to promote the landing of unmanned driving in mining vehicles in open-pit mining areas, accelerate the construction of smart mines, and accelerate the industrialisation process of smart mines.”
