Immersive Technologies has been awarded first prize in the international category of Machines & Products Display at the 2010 International Mining Exhibition held in Kolkata, India. Following a further major Advanced Equipment Simulator sale into India in late 2009 to one of the world’s leading producers of zinc & lead, Immersive Technologies demonstrated its industry leading simulator technology to the heads of the Indian mining industry during the four day trade show.
High levels of interest were generated as trade show visitors looked for leading companies with proven technology to increase their operators’ safety and site profitability. Immersive Technologies’ long-term exclusive alliances with the leading Original Equipment Manufacturers and extensive mining industry customer base in 28 countries were noted by visitors as key indicators of Immersive Technologies’ prowess in mining simulation.
With previous simulator units acquired by Tata Steel, the recent 2009 sale saw an AES 2 simulator deployed to the large zinc mine to support and enhance the training of operators on Komatsu 830E-AC haul trucks and Terex/O&K RH340 excavators.
“Immersive Technologies is commitment to ensuring mining companies in India have access to our leading global technology and are fully supported by Immersive.” said Al Haroun, Immersive Technologies Regional General Manager – India, Middle East & Europe.
Immersive Technologies has 480 advanced mining equipment simulator modules in 28 countries. Its Advanced Equipment (AE) Simulators are considered vital to many of the world’s leading mining companies such as BHP Billiton, VALE and Rio Tinto. From the Congo to northern Canada, mines are increasing safety and reducing their cost per tonne by using simulators daily to train and test their operators.
Immersive Technologies has exclusive licensing and technical information alliances with the leading Original Equipment Manufacturers, including: Caterpillar, Hitachi, Komatsu, Liebherr and P&H MinePro.
