Automated mineralogy and XRF operator training for mining personnel

pd_header_image.jpegAhead of International Mining’s article on Automated Mineralogy in the February issue, Infomine, under its Edumine banner, is running a course on XRF Operator Training for the Mining Industry. This course provides delegates with the basic knowledge of XRF theory and applications, as used in mineral exploration and mining, as well as the principles and practices of radiation safety that apply to XRF analysers. It also prepares delegates for the qualification examination associated with becoming certified by Natural Resources Canada (NRCan) as an Operator of Portable X-ray Flourescence Analysers. The author is Innov-X’s Cindy Collins, a civil engineering technologist who has worked in the mineral exploration, forestry and pulp and paper industries. Her experience ranges from non-destructive and chemical testing to mineral exploration data collection and management of 2D and 3D mineral exploration surface and subsurface data.

The course is designed for professionals involved in making decisions regarding mining projects during exploration, evaluation, development, and operations; including mining executives, managers, financial analysts, mining engineers, metallurgists, geologists, assayers, academics, students, public policy makers and XRF users.
