Minesight 7.0 harnesses unified approach to mine planning

stp2.jpgWith MineSight Version 7.0 there is a unified approach to a highly customised industry at the heart of MineSight’s update CD. “The integration of the tools in our short-term planning suite – MineSight Interactive Planner, MineSight Haulage, MineSight Schedule Optimizer and Material Manager – provides a formidable tool for rapid schedule evaluation,” said John Davies, President of Mintec – makers of MineSight. “And MineSight Version 7.0 removes the limits on block model sizes. Geologists and engineers using block models to make mine plans and production schedules can now create models without constraint, using the latest version of MineSight 3D. They can produce a more detailed block model, while maintaining the original block model extents.”

Davies points out that all required MineSight programs and procedures have been modified to work with no model limits. Clients can expect the same reliability and speed. And speed features among a host of other improvements.

There’s 64-bit support for drill hole management programs, MineSight Data Analyst, (MSDA) and MineSight Torque. That’s in addition to the 64-bit leap forward taken last month by MineSight Schedule Optimizer, (MSSO) and its seamless integration with MineSight Haulage.

“We have various multithreaded critical engines for performance, and the new 64-bit applications will run faster and have unlimited memory footprints,” said Davies. “Some of our MineSight Economic Planner runs are 70 times faster than older versions prior to 64-bit technology.” Davies said that for clients, the improvements mean easier modeling and integrated mine planning.

“And we are continuing to develop new tools and applications that will serve clients with underground and stratigraphic deposits,” said Davies.

Here’s an overview of some of the enhancements in MineSight 7.0:

MineSight 3D v7.0

  • Increased model size support
  • Usability improvements including “Open view” in data manager to view lists of loaded objects
  • Faster access to the planning database, MineSight Planning Database, which improves performance in MineSight Interactive Planner and MineSight Schedule Optimizer
  • Direct model access in MineSight Dart
  • Improvements in multi-run features in MineSight Compass.

MineSight Data Analyst v2.8

  • 64-bit support
  • Increased model size support.

MineSight Schedule Optimizer v4.01

  • 64-bit support
  • Equipment scheduling
  • Canvas for defining flowsheet
  • Volume constraints.

“More 64-bit versions of MineSight products will be released in 2012,” added Davies. “You’ll also see the integration of scheduling tools, such as MineSight Schedule Optimizer with visualisation in MineSight 3D. The animation of schedules, and direct interaction between cuts and the scheduler will make the workflow in MSSO amazing.”
