Scanalyse provides laser scanning condition monitoring services for grinding mills and crushers. Its technology was originally developed at Curtin University and the company started operating commercially in 2007. With substantial penetration into the Australian market already achieved Scanalyse is branching out internationally. Offices have been established in Santiago, Chile, servicing the South American market and in Salt Lake City, Utah to service North America. The latest countries to show interest in the Scanalyse technology are Ghana and Mongolia. Scanalyse has signed a contract with the Rio Tinto operated Oyu Tologoi mine in Mongolia (IM, April and May 2011) to provide services for its comminution circuits.

 In Ghana, Perseus Mining operates the Edikan site in and has recently retained Scanalyse to scan its grinding mills and crusher in order to evaluate the technology.

Both sites are new and do not have reliable historical data on how well their mill and crusher liners will perform. The extensive data collection and trending analysis that Scanalyse provides is of great benefit in these cases and assists in managing wear liners to maximise life while reducing the risk of unscheduled shutdowns due to premature liner wear and breakage.
