Indian/US joint venture for global operation in large mining machine parts

slideshow-6.jpgIndia’s Vulcan Industrial Engineering Co (VIECL) and L&H Industrial of Gillette, Wyoming, USA, both claiming to be “leaders in engineering services and products for the global mining industry,” have launched Velocity International, a US based organization that will produce mining machinery, spare parts and equipment accessories that are primarily used in high volume global mining operations. Headquartered in Lake Forest, Illinois, Velocity has put together a team of industry experts with extensive international experience that will sell and service high quality mining equipment through its worldwide dealer network.Velocity says it “is committed to advanced engineering designs for all of the products, and will implement worldclass manufacturing practices in a cost-effective supply environment. Velocity will also take advantage of strategic outsourcing opportunities to not only optimise the product functionality, but also to decrease costs and provide its customers with an overall lower life cycle cost of ownership and operation.”

Sanjay Gandhi, the Managing Director of VIECL, stated, “With Vulcan’s 40 year history primarily in the mining industry coupled with our strategic global partnership with L&H, Velocity International is a logical next step of growth.
