SGS awarded five year on-site laboratory contract renewal for Sabodala mine in Senegal

Teranga Gold Corp has renewed SGS’s on-site laboratory contract for the Sabodala mine in Senegal for another five years. The mine is in southeast Senegal, 650 km east of Dakar. The laboratory was designed to service the mine and provides critical data to guide site activities.  For four years SGS says it “has provided ongoing quality service and experienced staff, and will continue to manage and operate the laboratory for a minimum of another five years.” Technical capabilities on-site include gold analyses by aqua regia for geology and plant samples and carbon and bullion analyses.

“SGS brings the same principles and quality management procedures to contract lab operations that we do to our commercial laboratories, thus ensuring timely, trusted analytical services. With an exceptional on-site safety record, SGS provides worldclass experienced professionals who ensure accurate data and fast turnaround time. This generates effective use of capital throughout the life of [a] project.

“SGS operates on-site and near-site laboratories in some of the most remote locations in the world, regardless of temperature, altitude or size of the program. SGS’ unequalled experience in remote laboratories ensures smooth start-up and operation. Many of SGS’ geochemistry laboratories comply with the ISO/IEC 17025 standard for specific registered tests.”
