Tenova appoints new CEO and creates distinct Mining and Metals divisions

Tenova, the worldwide supplier of advanced technologies, products and engineering services for the global Metals and Mining industries, has announced the appointment of Andrea Lovato as the new Chief Executive Officer of the company. Effective July, 2015, Tenova has also been organised into two divisions – Metals and Mining –
managed by Andrea Rocca (Metals CEO) and Frank Hubrich (Mining CEO).

The division leaders will be responsible for the business strategy and results in their respective areas. “With this new leadership structure a generational change has begun.” commented Gianfelice Rocca Chairman of Techint Group. “In the past year, I personally reviewed Tenova’s global business priorities to identify the future pillars of the company. An integral task has been to facilitate the handover process to an international leadership team. This team is

Frank Hubrich is Mining CEO at Tenova. He joined the company’s German based subsidiary, TAKRAF, in 1990 as a research engineer with an emphasis on geological studies and mining processes. He has since held a variety of engineering roles within TAKRAF before being appointed CEO in 2012. At the same time, Hubrich was entrusted with the leadership of Tenova Mining, overseeing Tenova’s global mining equipment activities. He holds a Doctorate in Mechanical Engineering from the Dresden University of Technology and has dedicated his professional career to various specialisations within the mining and material handling sectors. He is an internationally recognised expert in this field and is regularly published in various mining journals, including having contributed to International Mining articles.
