MinAssist to help mines implement MinSCAN mineralogy

MinAssist has entered into a co-operation agreement with Zeiss Microscopy to provide end-to-end solutions for its MinSCAN automated mineralogy technology. MinAssist aims to provide clients with a fully supported end-to-end solution for establishment and implementation of operational mineralogy programs at the mine site. Using its experience and expertise in building value from mineralogical characterisation and Zeiss´s extensive history in the automated mineralogy field to provide comprehensive technical and logistics support, MinAssist will look to provide productivity driven solutions that embed mineralogical information into the day-to-day decision making process at operating sites.
Over the past year the company has we have worked with the ruggedised MinSCAN technology on a number of high profile projects and it is clear that “Zeiss has a significant advantage in terms of its ability to deliver high throughput solutions in challenging environmental conditions. Combined with MinAssist’s expertise in the application of mineralogy data, the synergies were obvious,” MinAssist says.

“We look forward to developing on these synergies providing end-to-end program setup and data interpretation solutions. Our philosophy is to embed operational mineralogy programs into the day-to-day running of the site. This is achieved through a comprehensive tailored training program where site personnel operate the MinSCAN system and undertake basic data analysis, while MinAssist provides remote data analysis and interpretation support through our ‘small community’ network of experts. Our goal is to make operational mineralogy accessible to all sites with a compelling business case to improve decision making and productivity while up-skilling site personnel.”
