Johnson Matthey announces compliance clinic

Johnson Matthey, a speciality chemical company focused on catalysts, precious metals and fine chemicals, is to provide an expert ‘compliance clinic’ to help explain the significance of increasingly stringent and complex emissions regulations. The clinic is to be held at Bauma 2007.

Delegates at Bauma 2007, to be held in April, will be able to drop in and benefit from expert counselling. Strong interest is expected from engine and equipment manufacturers, dealers, owners and operators, all grappling with Tier 4 and other emissions limits. New emissions regulations represent a particularly significant challenge to engine designers and technologists. Under new regulation, many new non-road machines will require an exhaust catalyst for the first time, a requirement affecting the way they are designed. Meanwhile, the clinic will also be able to provide valuable advice to equipment dealers, owners and operators wanting retrofit systems to help them meet local environment or occupational health regulations.

“Because we have more than 30 years experience in the technology, the applications and the market, we are ideally placed to explain the regulations as well as provide catalysts and systems to enable compliance”, said Joe Stevenson, Non-Road Product Manager for Johnson Matthey. “Bauma is an excellent forum for providing engine and equipment manufacturers, dealers, owners and operators with sound advice on their options for meeting the new standards.”

Since making the first catalysts to control vehicle pollution in 1974, Johnson Matthey has supplied one in three of all autocatalysts ever made. A global leader in catalytic systems for emissions control, Johnson Matthey has 12 manufacturing sites and six technology centres around the world. Its technology and expertise is as applicable to non-road machinery as to on-road vehicles. The compliance clinic will be available throughout Bauma 2007 in Munich, Germany, which runs from the April 23 to 29, 2007. It will be on the Johnson Matthey stand A509 in Hall A5.
