Tenova Takraf’s newly developed series of mobile crushing plants, ranging from 3,000 to 12,000 t/h capacity, were under the spotlight at Bauma last week. The Takraf Mobile Crushing System (TCMS®) serves as a flexible link between a mining shovel and face conveyor, mostly eliminating the need for haul trucks. The TCMS can be combined with a belt wagon or a mobile conveyor bridge, spanning up to three benches, 15 m or taller, from one face conveyor. The whole system can be relocated without interrupting the material flow; saving valuable operating time and improving the availability and use of the entire mining system. The TCMS will be discussed further in International Mining‘s in-pit crushing and conveying article in June.
The mobile crusher is extremely manoeuvrable catering for continuous and synchronous movement with the face shovel. The fixed and oversized discharge conveyor below the crushing unit equalises material flow and minimises spillage. The TMCS concept allows the arrangement of travel crawlers close to head and tail extremities of the rigid superstructure, e.g. supporting the receiving hopper that is located right above a pair of equalised crawlers. Via those crawlers the high impact loads are directly transferred into the ground.
A ball point on top of the two-crawler undercarriage, below the crusher, allows rotation around the vertical axis for steering purposes. Hydraulic steering cylinders, as well as auxiliary hydraulic supports are also not needed.
The TMCS® can either be equipped with a double roll crusher or a twin shaft sizer. In single bench operations, the TMCS can also work without any additional mobile link conveyors. For maintenance purposes, there is sufficient space ahead of the crushing unit itself to move it out towards the head of the crusher discharge conveyor.
The TMCS series has been designed to work in conjunction with the standard shovel range of 20 to 65 m3, however the modular system allows it to be adapted to specific mine requirements.
