Hatch has awarded Joest an order to build a 3 m x 6 m double-deck SAG mill discharge screen for the Thompson Creek Mining Endako Expansion Project. This discharge screen is part of the major expansion Thompson Creek Mining is currently undergoing to increase the capacity of its Endako mine. The Joest screen will be fitted with PU screen panels. Over 400 m3 of water will be dumped onto the screen to wash off any fines and clay from the molybdenum pebbles coming out of the SAG mill. The capacity of the screen is 650 t/h. Screen design and layout are critical for this process to ensure that sticky fines are washed off and the huge volume of water is removed from the product, so that exit moisture is minimal. This is critical for the proper operation of the downstream crusher.
Joest has proven experience and success in these applications with a large installed base of similar screens around the world. It is a worldwide leader in vibratory material handling systems with over 90 years of experience.
