Mintec releases latest version of MineSight Strategic Planner

Mintec has released 3.6, the latest version of MineSight Strategic Planner, its long term mine planning software. Among numerous cited enhancements to the long-term planning tool is the addition of ARC reporting (Advanced Reporting and Charting). ARC enables MineSight clients “to create robust, flexible, repeatable, and customisable reports. Through effective chart and report building, it allows results to be communicated to management and technical staff quickly and clearly.” Version 3.6 adds improved input and validation for entry of shovels, trucks and destinations and lifts.

MineSight Strategic Planner (MSSP) “offers the level of detail demanded by the mining industry for full feasibility studies of new and existing mines. It ensures that the long-term life-of-mine plan can be used effectively by short and medium-term mine planners as guidelines for their work”, says Mintec. MSSP analyses bench pushback reserves, material destinations, and haulage parameters to provide a feasible life of mine schedule that maximises net present value. It considers all operating constraints while meeting or exceeding project-specific objectives, period production goals and quality targets. Some of the world’s largest and most complex mines are using MSSP, including Freeport-McMoRan’s Tenke Fungurume in the DRC. Mintec says “The tool has been invaluable in developing a life of mine schedule at Tenke”, which is one of the world’s largest sedimentary copper-cobalt resources.
