MOBA Mobile Automation AG has acquired a further 24% stake in the Finish excavator system manufacturer Novatron Oy and now holds 49% in total. Novatron, a family business based in Finland with subsidiaries in Norway and Sweden, has more than 20 years of experience in the development and production of control and measuring technologies. With Xsite EASY, LINK and PRO Novatron has a complete product range of solutions for excavator control applications. ”The steady market growth in Scandinavia, the successful co-operation during the last three years and a close cooperation with OEM customers“, explained David Shelstad, MOBA’s Vice President, as the main reasons for MOBA’s decision to intensify the participation in Novatron. “By reinforcing our partnership, MOBA and Novatron aim to create further synergies, particularly in areas of technology and product development”, says Jukka Tervahauta, Managing Director of Novatron Oy.

In 2011 MOBA acquired an initial 25% stake in Novatron and immediately integrated Novatron’s Xsite excavator systems into its product portfolio. Both companies’ marketing cooperation will continue to operate: MOBA, its subsidiaries and its international dealer network will market Novatron excavator systems globally. Novatron Oy will continue to offer excavator systems in Finland, Norway, and Sweden, and will market MOBA levelling systems for graders, dozers, milling machines, pavers, and rollers in these countries, working closely together with MOBA’s existing dealers. With over 40 years of experience, MOBA has grown to become a leader in developing and manufacturing mobile electronics, identification systems and weighing technology for construction machinery and waste disposal vehicles. MOBA is also a successful system specialist and OEM supplier in the field of mobile automation.
