PhosAgro delegation led by CEO Andrey Guryev attends World Economic forum annual meeting in Davos

Andrey Guryev, President of the Russian Association of Fertilizer Producers and CEO of PhosAgro, one of the world’s leading vertically integrated phosphate-based fertilizer producers, will take part in the annual meeting of the World Economic Forum (WEF) in Davos January 17-20.

The official Russian delegation in Davos this year will be led by First Deputy Prime Minister of the Russian Federation Igor Shuvalov. The WEF’s 2017 annual meeting will focus on the fourth industrial revolution, which involves the integration of innovative digital technologies into modern industry.

For PhosAgro, in addition to this overarching topic, important areas for discussion will include food security, global economic development scenarios, environmental protection, and the outlook for Russia.

Guryev said: “In addition to our priority Russian market, PhosAgro supplies its environmentally pure products, including 33 grades of fertilizers, to 100 countries worldwide. We play an important role in global food security, and I look forward to discussing our successful experience in the context of development of the agricultural sector and food systems for the future.

“I am also particularly interested in panel discussions looking at the outlooks for Europe and Latin America, to which we export significant volumes of our product. We opened trading companies in Brazil two years ago, and last year in Switzerland, France, Germany and Poland.

“Another relevant topic is the situation in China, as the devaluation of the Yuan has had a significant impact on commodities prices globally.

“I hope that the forum, which brings together business leaders and economists from all over the world, will produce useful recommendations on how to address the important issues that face the international community today, including securing sustainable economic growth for the world economy.”

This year PhosAgro is a sponsor of Russia House, the official residence for the Russian mission in Davos, which will also serve as a place for discussions, business meetings and other events.

PhosAgro is one of the leading global vertically integrated phosphate-based fertilizer producers. It focuses on the production of phosphate-based fertilizers, feed phosphate and high-grade phosphate rock (P2O5 content of not less than 39%).

The company is the largest phosphate-based fertilizer producer in Europe, the largest producer of high-grade phosphate rock worldwide and the third largest MAP/DAP producer in the world (excluding China), according to Fertecon. PhosAgro is also one of the leading producers of feed phosphates (MCP) in Europe, and the only producer in Russia. It is Russia’s only producer of nepheline concentrate.
