Normet to tap Kazakh market

Posted on 13 Oct 2006

Normet, the Finnish manufacturer of specialty underground equipment, has established a subsidiary in Kazakhstan. The purpose is to develop co-operation and its service offering with local customers, in particular the after-market services. Normet has sold equipment and services in the country for over 20 years.

“Normet has developed a special concept of after-market services called Life Time Care (LTC). The objective of the LTC is to offer customers services covering maintenance, service, spare parts and many other functions in close co-operation with Normet. LTC is aimed to increase considerably the availability, lifecycle and overall cost-effectiveness of Normet machines,” comments Heikki Ulvila, Director, Life Time Care.

The subsidiary Norservice is located in the Karaganda area, the primary mining region of Kazakhstan. The most important services include sales of spare parts, customer-specific service contracts, repairs, training, and audit services. Norservice is also the sole importer and distributor of Normet equipment in the country.
