Outokumpu and Riedhammer agreement

Outokumpu Technology and German technology company Riedhammer, member of the Italian SACMI Group, have signed an agreement on close technology co-operation in the field of carbon plants of the primary aluminum industry.

Outokumpu Technology has over 50 years of experience in supplying green anode plants and equipment for aluminum smelters with a track record of over 40 plants and numerous pieces of equipment installed worldwide. The company is also an important supplier of rod shop process equipment and related technologies to the primary aluminum smelters.

Riedhammer has over 80 years experience in the supply of anode baking furnace technologies to the aluminum smelters. The knowledge base coupled with the recent acquisition of the Alesa bake oven technology consolidates Riedhammer as one of the leading anode baking furnace technology providers in the world. Riedhammer has an installed base of over 170 plants globally.

With this co-operation the two companies will reinforce their market leadership and provide advanced concepts and technologies for cost competitive modern carbon plants for the aluminum industry.
