South African products highlighted at Aimex

A range of products and services from South Africa – through the SA Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) – will be highlighted in the South African Pavilion at AIMEX 2007 – Asia Pacific’s International Mining Exhibition, to be held at Sydney’s Olympic Park from September 4 to 7, 2007.

SA Capital Equipment Export Council (SACEEC): This private/public partnership was established in 2000 to facilitate the growth and development of the capital goods and services sector. It is a facilitating organisation to improve export potential of the capital goods and services sector. www.saceec.com.

Bird Machines has designed and manufactured a range of mining machinery, since 1952, including multipurpose vehicles, personnel transporters, dump trucks, utility vehicles and a range of stone dusters.  www.birdmachines.co.za.

Blue Cube Systems was established in 2001 to develop, build and sell fast in-line mineral analysers. Its Blue Cube MQi instant mineral analyser (see IM August 2007), was developed with the financial support of the South African government’s Innovation Fund and successfully demonstrated during 2004. Since then 10 units have been sold to four different clients in South Africa, with two further units exported to Australia. www.bluecube.co.za.

BRELKO manufactures a range of products for the bulk materials handling industry, primarily intended to assist in the control of spillage, carryback and dust, as well as promoting trouble free flow of material at belt conveyor transfer and load points. Drytech, formed in the early 1980s, specialises in the consulting, designing, manufacturing, installing and commissioning of drying plants for customers in mining and other sectors. Grant Gore & Sons designs, manufactures and services trailers for mining, and is the largest heavy duty trailer manufacturer in Southern Africa. The South African International Steel Fabricators is a joint venture marketing initiative representing leading South African structural steel fabricators, consulting engineers, steel merchants, allied suppliers and primary steel producers, whose objective is to increase export sales by pooling expertise and resources. Products available through the group include structural steel and plate work, mine headgear, mine shaftwork, conveyance stems, mineprocessing plant, cranes, power plant, transmission towers, tank farms, pipe racks, etc. www.isf.co.za.

Kappa Engineering carries out specialised engineering, design, manufacture and repair of hydraulic cylinders. It can supply cylinders up to 6 m long, with products used in mining and other sectors. www.kappa.edx.co.za.
