Yukon’s prospector of the year – Lori Walton

The Yukon Prospectors Association (Canada) has awarded the Prospector of the Year Award to Ms. Lori Walton, M.Sc, P. Geol., G.G. The Award was presented on November 27, 2007 at the Annual Yukon Chamber of Mines Geoscience Forum in Whitehorse, Yukon in recognition of her contribution to minerals, prospecting and exploration in the Yukon.

Ms. Walton graduated from the University of Alberta with a M.Sc. degree in Economic Geology in 1987 and also holds a Graduate Gemology degree from the Gemological Institute of America. She has managed mineral exploration programs, acquisitions and joint ventures in Canada and Central America. Before joining Firestone Ventures, she worked as Senior Mineral Development Advisor for the Yukon government. She is a Professional Geologist with APEGGA and President of Tigerstar Geoscience, providing management and consulting services to the mining industry.
