DRUM radio system support and sales agreement signed

Posted on 4 Jul 2009

Kutta Technologies has signed Pillar Innovations as a distributor for Kutta’s underground mine radio system, the Digital Radio for Underground Miners (DRUM). The system seamlessly interoperates with leaky feeder systems and is an excellent choice for MINER Act compliance (USA) for redundant communication systems. The cost of the DRUM system is much less than that of leaky feeders and node-based systems, and because the DRUM radios can transmit a signal on any metal infrastructure, the chance of communicating after an incident is high. Some of the largest underground coal companies in the US are planning to use Kutta’s cost-effective DRUM system.

“We are pleased to have Pillar Innovations represent our product to the mining community,” said Matthew Savoca, President of Kutta Technologies. “Pillar’s reputation as a system integrator in underground mines is excellent, and the level of support they offer their customers is exactly what Kutta is looking for in a distributor,” Savoca added.

“Kutta’s DRUM system is a perfect compliment to leaky feeder systems, and we are excited to have the opportunity to promote the DRUM system in the marketplace,” said Adam Brenneman of Pillar Innovations. “The DRUM system is easy to install, and we see the system as an excellent backup communication system in large and medium mines.
