Applied Ecosystem Services, Inc. announces the forthcoming release of a free tool to assist regulated industries in complying with spill reporting requirements. This service will help companies in mining, oil and gas, agriculture, manufacturing, and other industries and activities regulated under the Clean Water Act (CWA). Registered users enter information specific to a particular spill and get a completed spill report in PDF format. A list of the user’s reports is available at any time. Those interested in using the service can register by visiting and entering their email address.Initially, this service is available for mines required to submit Nevada Division of Environmental Protection (NDEP) forms 490 (Mine Spill/Release Record) and 390 (Annual Spill Record). Additional states and forms will be added in the future.
Subscribers to the company’s environmental information system for managing permit compliance, PermitWatch(TM), have this tool included in the system and augmented with the ability to record spill remediation activities and monitoring data and to submit system-prepared reports that document cleanup and remediation of the spill.
