new_album1004003.jpgStorm Parts, a leading supplier of new track systems for a large range of purpose built track type machinery, has supplied United Pacifc Drilling with a machine designed to do a multitude of tasks. It is not only a transporter but can be used for carrying compressors and drill rods as well as other pieces of equipment that may be hard to move in rugged terrain.

The dril rig transporter features include:

  • Fitted with 7 t Hiab crane to lift other pieces of equipment
  • 6 m x 3 m tray (overall length is 8 m)
  • Cummins diesel engine and hydraulic pump fitted
  • Wireless remotes for easy operation.

Storm Parts’ track systems range from small 1 t machines to 100 t machines. It has mainly been focusing on the drilling market with enquiries for track type machines being the main business. It also offers smaller rubber tracks for environmentally sensitive machines, which range from 1 t units to 13 t units.

The track systems come in two halves and are ready-fitted with tracks, rollers, idlers and final drives. The recently, built and supplied drill rig transport machine for United Pacific Drilling in Papua New Guinea was designed to carry a 15 t rig into the wet and muddy mountains of Papua New Guinea where conventional transportation has failed.
