The Siberian Coal and Energy Co’s (SUEK) Tugnui surface mine has achieved record figures in overburden removal operations and coal production since its establishment. By November 29, the Tugnui mine had produced 6 Mt of coal since the beginning of the year. This is the highest output in its history. Moreover, in November the Mine repeated a one-month output record of 803,008 t which was set last October. Also in Russia’s National Business Awards 2010, SUEK was named the the winner in the Fuel and Energy Sector nomination category.
The best performance at Tugnui was demonstrated by the crews of EKG-5u excavator No. 43 (foreman Andrei Zyazin), EKG-4u excavator No. 264 (foreman Aleksandr Lyamichev), and Коmatsu PC-1250 No. 20587 (foreman Maksim Evstifeyev).
The one-month figures of overburden removal operations were also record-breaking. In November, as many as 5 Mt of overburden were removed, compared with the average of 1 to 3 Mt. Among the crews of overburden removal machines the best performers were the EKG- 8i excavator crew.
Bucyrus shovels achieved the highest production figures on November 26. For example, the crew of Bucyrus shovel No. 1 consisting of foreman Eduard Prokhorov and Sergei Nopin loaded 51,130 m3 of rock. Bucyrus shovel No. 2 consisting of the foreman Petr Polyakov and Mikhail Matveyev loaded 51,565 m3 of rock.
Andrei Fyodorov, General Director of SUEK-Krasnoyarsk, congratulated the Tugnui miners on their high labour achievements. In his cable he wrote: “The enterprise has achieved such high results for the first time in its history. Undoubtedly, credit must be given to the team of Tugnui miners. I thank you, my dear colleagues, for your work! I wish you all further professional success, labour records, health, happiness and welfare!
