Two companies dlivering energy management results for the mining sector; Canadian Shield Energy Solutions will merge with BESTECH, one of Canada’s leading engineering and automation firms specialising in software development and energy management. CSE President, Dan Dumais commented, “We believe this merger is an excellent opportunity for both companies to deliver high impact energy management solutions to our clients.” CSE provides energy management consulting for large industrial load clients in North America. It assists its customers in effectively reducing its energy consumption and increasing its energy efficiency. CSE clients include Xstrata Nickel. BESTECH introduced an innovative mine-wide energy management solution to the industrial sector earlier this year, called NRG1-ECO (Energy Consumption Optimisation). Vale’s Coleman and Xstrata’s Fraser mines have recently commissioned the NRG1-ECO’s Ventilation-On-Demand control strategy in Sudbury. NRG1-ECO is a hardware and software solution that significantly reduces energy consumption associated with ventilation, dewatering and compressed air.
Dumais will join BESTECH’s team to manage NRG1-ECO project implementations and commissioning. He will also assist BESTECH’s industrial clients in accessing the various energy funding programs and in minimising energy costs by participating in various market programs. Marc Boudreau, BESTECH’s CEO, stated that, “CSE’s merger with BESTECH offers great value to our customers; the combination of BESTECH’s long history of developing innovative energy management solutions and CSE’s ten years of specialized energy consulting will maximise our clients’ energy saving results.”
Founded in 1995, BESTECH was created to address the need for system integration and industrial automation. By developing a very specialised skill set, BESTECH quickly gained recognition as a leader in industrial automation, engineering, software development and energy management. With over a decade of sustainable growth, BESTECH developed its strong industry expertise, by responding and developing innovative technologies that help companies in mining enhance their productivity, profitability and safety.
