RANA Medical offers mine refuge systems

When supplied with a Refuge One Air Centre, the Tommyknocker serves as a complete mine refuge system.These rugged facilities can be custom built to comfortably accommodate maximum number of expected occupants (additional 600 mm sections available). Four built-in laser-cut lifting lugs facilitate lifting and hoisting within a mine shaft. It is skid-mounted for easy relocation and forklift transport within a mine. Independently powered – equipped with 120V AC and 60 Hz battery charger inputs; 12V DC outputs (other voltages and frequencies available)

Two air sources, the mine’s compressed air supply or independently using a Refuge One Air Centre to supply breathable air. Two sealed doors maintain the internal air quality by providing an air lock. Leak testing ensures toxic gases are kept out of chamber and breathable air stays in. Internal lights operates on battery or mine power. Externally mounted warning lights indicate when batteries require charging.
