Brigade Electronics displays what it describes as the “safest reversing alarm in the world”

be-970wm.jpgBrigade Electronics returns to Conexpo, Las Vegas this year to display its latest range of robust camera monitor systems and the safest reversing alarms in the world. Proximity alarms and collission avoidance systems will be examined in detail in IM’s May issue.

Specifically designed for a major global OEM, Brigade Electronics’ new BE-970 WM has a modern style fascia with metal casing. The 7″ digital LCD monitor is waterproof to IP69K touch-screen controls.

Brigade’s array includes button lock feature to prevent driver tampering. Also, auto triggers, mirror or normal view selection and a range of vertical and angled distance marker options let systems be tailored to meet a wide range of driver and operational demands.

Brigade’s white sound reversing alarms (bbs-tek) are the safest in the world and eliminate complaints noise complaints. The broadband frequency emitted is directional and instantly locatable. The warning sound heard only in and near the danger area, prevents workers from becoming desensitised to the sound, or worse disabling the alarm. White sound alarms are more likely to be heard by hearing impaired and those wearing ear protection, a recent study by Virginia Tech showed a broadband alarm “significantly improved localization compared with standard, more narrow-bandwidth backup alarm, and these results have implications for the updating of backup alarm standards”.

Also on display will be Brigade’s range of pulsed radar systems including the new Workzone which boasts impressive close-in corner to corner blind-spot detection, ideal for light to medium duty mobile plant machinery. The sensors are connected to an-in cab warning device to alert the driver of an object, vehicle or person in his danger zone when manoeuvring.

For more heavy duty applications or where the cab is exposed to the elements, Brigade’s Xtreme Backsense is ideal. The programmable system allows bespoke detection areas up to 10 m.
