Call for papers for 2011 Australian Mining Technology Conference

pump2.jpgThe CRCMining Centre is issuing a call for papers for the 2011 Australian Mining Technology Conference. The theme for the 2011 event is Decision Support – embedding process capability in mining systems. The Conference will be held on 12-14 September at the Australis Noosa Lakes Resort in Tewantin. http://www.crcmining.com.au/. Papers should fit one of the following categories:

  • Materials handling
  • Mine planning and scheduling
  • Automated mining technologies
  • Orebody definition and characterisation
  • Mining methods
  • Rock fragmentation
  • Safety improvement.

Abstracts are due on 27 May 2011. Further information, including suggested abstract format, is available on the CRCMining website.The Centre has appointed Kevin Greenwood to the position of Commercial Director. He joins CRCMining from Leica Geosystems, where he was Vice President – Mining Systems. Greenwood has more than 20 years experience in the area of technology in mining and other heavy industries and has particular expertise in working with small to medium companies. Aside from overseeing the Centre’s spin-off companies, he will be tasked with ensuring the CRC stands ready to transition from its current status as a government funded Cooperative Research Centre to a completely self-funded entity.
