Macmahon awarded A$90 million in Australian mining contracts

boddington_gold_mine_7.jpgLast week Macmahon Holdings announced that it has been awarded a number of contracts totalling A$90 million in iron ore and gold. The contracted works include predevelopment work adjacent to current operations at BHP Billiton Iron Ore’s Wheelarra mine to construct haul roads and run of mine pad. There is also mining operations and ore re-handling at Newmont’s Boddington gold mine in Western Australia. For Newcrest there is work at the Cadia Valley Operation, namely underground development works at the Cadia Hill mine and at the Cadia East project, which includes a ventilation adit.

Production drilling, cablebolting and shotcreting will be undertaken at Panoramic Resources’ Savannah project in Western Australia.

Macmahon Chief Executive Officer, Nick Bowen, said each of these contracts were important expansions of the work that the Mining Business was already undertaking on these projects. “Our strong relationships, safe operations and high quality work delivered to each of these key clients, have enabled Macmahon to secure these additional opportunities.
