AmerCable is showing mining cables for both open-pit and underground mines on Stand 907 during AIMEX, September 6-9. The company says its sheathed power cables are fully compliant with and certified to all relevant Australian standards. They are also designed to last longer in harsh Australian mining conditions and to help provide greater levels of safety and productivity. AmerCable says it has more international certifications than any other mining cable manufacturer, and that “innovation is a company strong point.”
It offers cables in five bright colours, along with standard black, as well as combinations of coloured and striped cables. “These make circuit identification much simpler for repair workers and reduce the
possibility of cutting into an energised circuit,” AmerCable representative, Tom Rice, said. “Many mines use these as part of an equipment-specific visual inventory system.”
AmerCable’s cables featured highly flexible insulating and sheathing materials and had greater resistance to abrasion and moisture, he said. “And our cable constructions are engineered to last longer, reducing downtime and increasing production.”
AmerCable Australia, which is headquartered in the NSW Hunter Valley, will also use AIMEX to promote its work with customers in developing new cable products that address environmental, safety and cost reduction issues specific to individual mining applications.
