Mintec launches global Minequest for better mine planning

mineq.jpgThe pursuit of productivity is at the core of MineQuest, a series of global learning experiences launched by Mintec for clients using its MineSight software platform.  MineQuest Tucson is the first of the 2012 MineQuest events, with the series rolling out to Australia, Namibia, Chile, Peru, and Mexico later this year. “MineQuest is the new name for Mintec’s seminars,” explains Mintec president, John Davies. “The name reflects a shared goal. Our clients’ quest is to optimise performance at every stage of their mine’s life. Our quest is to ensure they make that happen.

MineSight software is used in hundreds of mines globally, helping to maximise productivity in some of the most complex and challenging mining environments imaginable. Clients attending MineQuest will not only learn about MineSight’s recent enhancements, but also new developments in the works. That includes Mintec’s progress toward true integrated mine planning – one package for short-term, medium-term, and long-term planning.

About 170 MineSight clients gathered at a Tucson resort near Mintec’s Arizona headquarters for MineQuest 2012. A welcome video kicked off a week of collaboration and innovation, where the latest advances in MineSight will be revealed via training, consultation, workshops and presentations.

Collaboration is integral to MineQuest, and as a technical learning environment, the event includes new product orientation, training, and feedback sessions with MineSight developers. MineQuest reflects a deep and on-going commitment to provide more support and services for Mintec clients, strengthen relationships, forge new ones, and gain greater insight from client experience with MineSight to continuously improve the software.

“There are some very exciting products in the pipeline,” says Davies. “MineQuest participants will get a front-row seat on how MineSight will make mines more streamlined, more efficient, and ever more productive.”
