Counting down to MINExpo 2012

minexpo2012.jpgThe four-year wait is almost over and the clock is counting down to MINExpo International 2012, September 24-26, at the Las Vegas Convention Centre. The 2012 show will be the largest ever, with 11 exhibit halls and outdoor exhibit areas, more than 1,600 exhibitors and 850,000 square feet of exhibits. More than 40,000 attendees from around the world are expected to descend on Las Vegas. The global mining industry will bring its newest equipment, technologies, products and services for an exhibition of unprecedented size and scope.

MINExpo is widely recognised as the premier exposition of mining equipment and services in the world, featuring a wide range of new-product introductions and exhibits of some of the largest mining equipment. It also is attended by many of the leading executives and professionals in the world mining industry. MINExpo also provides the latest in best practices and policies, with education sessions that will tackle some of the timeliest and most pressing issues facing the industry, led by experts from all segments of the mining industry. The 20 sessions will cover safety, underground and surface mining, coal, new mine development, processing, bulk materials handling, maintenance, solid waste, water, air, markets, exploration and automation. Attendees can also earn professional development hours through the sessions.

The National Mining Association will also host the prestigious Sentinels of Safety Awards, recognising achievement of outstanding safety records at US mining operations. The US Department of the Interior will present the Office of Surface Mining (OSM) Excellence in Surface Coal Mining Reclamation Awards and the Bureau of Land Management’s (BLM) Reclamation and Sustainable Mineral Development Awards. The OSM awards are presented to coal mining companies that achieve the most exemplary mining and reclamation in the country, while the BLM awards recognise the efforts made by mining companies in implementing the principles of sustainable development.
