Mine Site Technologies has developed a real time Diesel Particulate Matter (DPM) token count monitoring solution for underground diesel vehicles in coal mining. The solution aims to help ventilation officers and the mine deputy or ERZ controller to manage the number of vehicles per ventilation district. Key features of the solution include:
- Tracks total DPM token count as vehicles enter an exit ventilation district
- Live LED display of current token count at ventilation district entry point
- Pre-check area at entry point, where LED display indicates access denied/granted
- Can optionally check if brake test is overdue, and deny access
- MineDash VO Admin Tool for creating DPM reports and managing alarms/warnings
- Multiple ventilation districts supported
The DPM ‘token’ system is a manual management system that operates similarly to a conventional tagboard system, but where the spaces on the tagboard are limited in accordance with the ventilation provided to the district served by the tagboard, and each vehicle entering will consume a number of tagboard spaces in accordance with its DPM emissions. Once all spaces are consumed on the tagboard, further vehicle entry is not permitted.
